Meet Alka Sharma

Vivacious and energetic, Alka Sharma is a true Oberoi veteran who came up through the
Oberoi training programmes. She spent the early part of her career in Oberoi hotels,
Mumbai, veering off to open their new scenic property Bogmalo Beach in Goa. She then
returned to Oberoi Mumbai where she worked for over 13 years till 2010, when she
became the Director of housekeeping of this iconic hotel. 

Alka was the recipient of the
“Best Housekeeper Award” by HFS in 1997.

In 2009 – 2010, she was one of the key team members involved in reopening The
Oberoi, Mumbai, after the 26/11 terror attack.

Having worked closely with McKinsey and E&Y to revamp the Housekeeping processes
during her tenure with Oberoi Hotels, Alka counts herself fortunate to have worked
with General Managers of different nationalities whose thought processes and working
style gave her professionalism an international flavour.

After preopening a property with Howard Johnson in Bengaluru, she joined the Taj
Palace in Morocco and White fields, Bangalore. She went on to join India Bulls Real
estate in 2014 as their Vice President (Facilities), where she has been employed since.
